OLDOMINION : CANDIDT

"Its like I'm a breath out of my mommas coffin / It's like I'm a righteous footstep sacajawea walked in / I'm the pressure of drama before the homie sparked him / all in the light of street fights / the ghettos have um often."

Tucked away in a city known for rain, grunge music and Bill Gates, rests an emcee named Candidt. Born and raised in Seattle, Wa in a hustler / gospel household, the poet / emcee takes it all in stride. "I don't look at my upbringing as negative or positive, it's just me. If anything it was good for me to experience both ends of the spectrum." When asked how could both worlds co-exist Candidt readily responds, "I lived with my Mom and early on I witnessed the whole pimps, hoes, hustler world. Then later on my two sisters, brother and myself were taken away to live with my Grandparents. My Grandmother was a Minister so that household was totally opposite of my Mothers. But hey thats the way my world turns." Focused on soul, good vibes and good music, Candidt posesses a certain pazzaz of good and bad, triumph and tribulation, agony and exstacy. Hiphop music comes in various variations and styles. Candidt is a part of that bboy independence with a style somewhere between that one ill freestyle kid at every spot to the street poet, gamed, seasoned emcee. Candidt has performed in California, Oregon, Canada, Alabama, Atlanta and numerous places in Washington. This lyrically gifted mic fien is responsible for such bboy soul anthems as "Cocoa Budder Cafe" and "My Peoples" to the headnodin grooves like "Ghetto Heaven" and "Get on the Floor." It dosen't end there, just when you think you've captured his angle, he throws off your scent with cuts like, "Decent" and "Daily Prayr." In "Looking Back," he spits:... "dis world is no joke / im try'na live to be a old folk / i remember lines a coco / close yo eyes little jojo." Not only is he a great artist, performer and songwriter, but also owns his own entertainment company, "Dionices Entertainment," as well as his own promotion company, "Dionices Promotions." He is 25% owner of "Molimo Music Entertainment," heads a 6 piece band named "Molimo," and completed four hood classic albums, "Dookiebraid Soul," "The SOS," "Dionices: Agony & Exstacy," and " Quiet as Kept." "I like to spread my grind thin. Never know whats gonna pop-off." Candidt represents street church, soldiers and vibe music to both party and parlay to. He calls it "Bangalang!" Stay tuned bboy soul is here!
